Graduation Information
Essential Paper Work
Graduation Packets are available from the Office of Graduate Studies at the beginning of each long semester. These packets provide all the forms needed for graduation along with a checklist to help you in this process. University deadlines are available on the Registrar's web page. Announcements about graduation are also sent to you via your TCU email address. You must complete an Intent to Graduate form at the beginning of the semester in which you intend to graduate. All transfer of credits must have been accepted in your first 12 hours of enrollment. Without the appropriate documents completed by the deadline, you may not graduate. Please see the graduation checklist to insure that you have completed all the necessary steps for graduation.
Academic Hooding Ceremony
At graduation, students receiving the master’s or doctorate degree wear an academic hood with their cap and gown. In addition to joining the TCU community in celebrating your achievement in the graduation ceremony, the College of Education has a small ceremony for you, your family, and friends called “Academic Hooding.” At this ceremony you will receive your academic hood by the director of your program. Academic Hooding ceremonies are held at the end of the fall and spring semesters. Summer graduates participate in the ceremony set for December each year. Announcements about Academic Hooding are sent via TCU email and regular mail. Download form.
